To all of our Dippin’ Daisy’s friends,

First and foremost, we hope you’re staying safe and healthy during this wild time we’re all in. In the course of just a few weeks, everyone has experienced major changes, and that includes us at Dippin’ Daisy’s.

As COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, we’ve shifted our entire manufacturing efforts to the production of non-medical masks, right here in Los Angeles. This comes on the heels of L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti’s plea to civilians to wear face coverings when doing essential tasks outside their homes.

By increasing the quantities of non-medical masks for people like you and me, we help ensure that enough medical-grade N-95 masks are left for healthcare and essential workers—the people who truly need them right now.

Our goal is to produce and donate 100,000 washable masks, not only for our California community, but for the entire world. Each will be equipped with antiviral and antimicrobial layers to aid prevention of the virus. We completed our first production run of 5,000 masks in late March, and they have already been shipped to local hospitals and fire departments.

In addition to donating masks, we will also be making masks available here on our website, where you can support the cause by purchasing for yourself, your family, or your loved ones. For every mask purchased, we will donate one to first responders in need. Every purchase gets us closer to reaching our production goal.

To be clear, our only objective is to help stop the spread of the virus, not to turn a profit, so we want to be totally transparent about where your money goes. Our unit cost for one mask, which includes fabric and wages to our L.A. workers, is $4. On top of that, shipping is about $1. So by charging $10 for two masks (because when you buy one, we give one), we simply break even.

Take care of each other out there,

Team Dippin' Daisy's

Happy thoughts from our first responders

I think what you are doing as far as selling masks is so helpful in such unknown times

THANK YOU! I work at a small non-profit nursing home and we hadn't been able to access face masks until your donation. Thanks for helping us keep our patients safe!
